About this project
This site consolidates open-source reporting and analysis on the Russia–Ukraine war into a single research reference, updated on a rolling basis. It is organized around five pillars: a daily cross-regional news roundup, quantitative conflict indices (GDELT, Global Peace Index), Russian domestic public-opinion polling, think tank expert commentary, and an original analytical layer grounded in neoclassical geopolitical theory.
The goal is to place raw event reporting, structured data, public sentiment, and expert interpretation side by side, so that each can be read against the others rather than in isolation.
Research pillars
Daily News Roundup
Daily-updated summaries drawn from authoritative outlets across Russia, Ukraine, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas, grouped by region for comparison of framing.
View daily news →Data & Indices
Event-level tone and volume data from GDELT alongside annual country rankings from the Global Peace Index, tracked over time.
View data & indices →Public Opinion
Survey findings from Russian polling organizations — Levada Center, VCIOM, and FOM — on attitudes toward the war and its conduct.
View polling →Expert Analysis
Interpretations and assessments from established think tanks spanning Western, Russian, and non-aligned institutional perspectives.
View expert analysis →Geopolitical Analysis
An original analytical layer applying neoclassical geopolitics — systemic pressures, state capacity, and leader perception — to the conflict.
View analysis →Methodology notes
Source diversity is prioritized over volume: each daily roundup draws on a small number of outlets per region rather than an exhaustive aggregation, to keep framing differences legible. Quantitative sections cite GDELT's Global Knowledge Graph event and tone data and the Institute for Economics & Peace's Global Peace Index methodology documents. Polling figures will be sourced directly from the originating organizations' published releases, with sample size, field dates, and question wording retained alongside results.
